Going on a trip can be very exciting: new places, new people… However, with all the excitement we often forget about the “less fun” parts traveling. How do we prepare ourselves? What do we put in our suitcases? What are we going to need? And an endless list of all sorts of stuff we eventually will have to think of.
That’s why we bring you these tips. Going on a trip can be a little less stressing, and a little more fun. You’ll see how this helps you prepare yourself perfectly for what’s to come, without having to worry excessively.
Find a list
The first step to follow is googling a list of things you will need during the trip. There are specialized pages that offer such lists. You can even type in how many days you’re going, where you’re going, etc. The list will tell you exactly what you have to take with you. From the smallest, most meaningless objects, to the most important ones.
Put your clothes on your bed
The next thing you’re going to have to do if you want to leave on holidays is pack your bag. A task that seems very simple and yet we always seem to end up struggling with it. The first thing you’ll have to do, is lay all of the clothes you want to take with you on your bed. Although this tip might seem useless, you’re going to find it actually might save your life.
You don’t actually need that many clothes
You’re going to have to do this for various reasons. One, that way you can see what clothes you don’t even need. For example, if you have lots of white, you’re not going to need more of the same color.
Laying it out will make you see what clothing items are too similar, or you might just realize you straight up aren’t going to wear them. Second, having everything on your bed will make you realize what you’re forgetting. This tip will allow you to save space in your suitcase. This is great news as you will later be able to fill it with stuff you’ve bought, like clothes or food.
How you fold your clothes matters
Another aspect of making the suitcase is the importance of how you put your clothes in. Most people just fold the clothing items and put them horizontally in the suitcase. This is wrong.
There are other ways with which you will save lots of space. For example, you can choose to make little rolls out of your clothes. This will make them smaller, and you’ll prevent wrinkles. Or you can fold the clothes like you always do, but instead of laying them down, you put them in vertically.
Plan your outfits ahead
Another tip to save clothing space in your suitcase is planning your outfits beforehand. This way, you’ll prevent squishing all of your clothes into your suitcase because you don’t know what you’ll wear.
Downloading apps
Lastly, and this you’ll find super useful, download the apps you might need beforehand. You’ll most likely not have a wifi connection on the plane, so you’ll want to already have it all on there. Think about what you’ll need. Maybe games, maybe apps that help you sleep… Anything you can think of, really. That way you’ll make sure you won’t be bored or miss something.
