Although summer is the hottest time of the year, it’s also when the most trips take place. People have days off work and children don’t go to school. It’s the time to make that trip to the beach you’ve always wanted to make.
However, temperatures seem to get higher every year. This means it’s important you learn how to handle the heat and not suffer from things like a heat stroke. We give you 5 tips so that you can enjoy your vacation without having to worry about the hot weather.
1. Plan your days
When planning a trip, we usually look at the amount of days we have and what activities we can fit into each day. We usually don’t want to miss out on anything and doing as much as we can. However, it’s important you take a look at what days are going to be hottest, and plan your activities accordingly.
For example, you don’t want to go sightseeing through the city on the hottest days. Try and plan this on the days it’s okayish to walk outside. However, if the heat persists you can think about other options, like taking public transport.
2. Don’t forget to cool down from time to time
Cooling down is extremely important if you want to be able to endure the heat. There are many ways in which you can do so: taking a dip in the pool or the sea, or even just with a cold drink. This means that if your plan is laying on the beach all day long, you better not forget your parasol and jumping in the sea often enough.
3. Make the most out of the coolest hours of the day
We often want to sleep until late in the day when on vacation, because we tend to think that’s how we should rest when we don’t have responsibilities. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Getting up early can allow you to do many activities without the overwhelming heat nagging on you.
Have an early lunch, go rest at the hotel and after, when the sun is not so bright anymore, you can go back at it. Any time can be great to explore the city.
4. Get enough rest

5. Take the right clothes with you
Your clothes and shoes can definitely make or break how you feel for the rest of the day. Make sure you take the right clothes with you for every possible moment of the day or activity you might be taking part in. Plus, carrying a small bag with your essentials like a cold water bottle, something to eat, and sun cream can really be a savior on extreme moments of heat.
